Synopsis
The crew aboard a WWII German submarine must contend with poor conditions, long stretches of inactivity, fierce storms and thunderous battles. A correspondent observes their daily life, while their captain struggles to maintain morale and his own motivation. Based on the novel by Lothar G. Buchheim.
