October Programming Calendar
We’re so excited to be a part of your school programming calendar! There’s no limit to how our movie license can be used in your school to further engage students and their families. Find some of our top picks for pairing new releases and throwback hits with obvious – and not-so-obvious – holiday celebrations below.
OUTDOOR
World Mental Health Day (October 10)
Spotlight the importance of prioritizing your mental wellbeing this Mental Health Day with an outdoor wellness workshop. Showcase ways students can focus on their physical, emotional, spiritual and social self-care with activities like yoga, meditation, journaling prompts, a picnic featuring well-balanced foods, and a gratitude tree.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
National Bullying Prevention Month
Being kind – and celebrating acts of kindness – is one of the most powerful ways to combat bullying in schools. Spotlight students who showcase compassion, generosity and good will in your school with a Kindness Honor Roll of some sort. Have students nominate fellow students who have shown exemplary kindheartedness, then host an awards ceremony to honor the winners. Afterward, screen a relevant film to further spotlight bullying prevention at your school.
REWARD DAYS/FUNDRAISING
Halloween (October 31)
Celebrate Halloween with a screening of a classic – or new fangtastic – spooky film. Enhance your showing by playing Ghost in the Graveyard before pressing play, or make pair your showing with a Trunk or Treat event to provide everyone in your school community with a safe trick-r-treat experience!
