April
End of School Celebrations: Paw Patrol
Water games are never a bad idea. Come up with as many outdoor water activities as you can think of to entertain all grade levels during a field day! Water balloons, water shooters, water relay races, bubble blowing, slip ‘n slides and more are all great options. Students are sure to work up an appetite, so have waterproof snacks available, like apples, watermelon, popsicles, and carrot and celery sticks.
Additional Ideas:
Siblings Day (4/10): Onward, Easter (4/17): Hop, Earth Day (4/22): Norm of the North: Keys to the Kingdom, Spanish Language Day (4/23): Encanto
May
Great Outdoors Month: Jungle Cruise
Time to venture out into the warm weather and great outdoors! It’s easy to make outdoor exploration educational and engaging. Explore lessons on conservation and preservation, or hold a day devoted to roots, shoots, flowers and fruits. Start a mini community garden, or teach students a few survival skills for their next camping trip. The sky is literally the limit when it comes to what you can do, and teach, when you head outside.
Additional Ideas:
Astronomy Month: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Mental Health Month: Dear Evan Hansen, Teacher’s Appreciation Week (5/2-6): Matilda, International Day of Families (5/15): The Addams Family 2
